Welcome to our academic website dedicated to decolonising the global health field and higher education.

We are a group of academics from the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at King’s College London. We aim to contribute to the efforts to decolonise education and research by creating this public interdisciplinary archive. We are involving scholars from different global locations and pedagogical traditions to collate a diverse, rich collection incorporating readings, teaching resources, and pedagogical practices to assist global health scholars in decolonising and diversifying their syllabi. Thereby, we hope to provide a platform to critique perceptions and curricula and engage with worldwide theoretical and epistemological approaches.

The archive focuses broadly on key global health concerns, including inequalities in health; social, economic, and political determinants of health; social theories of health; culture and health; global health policies; social stratification and health; emerging health technologies and techniques, among other topics suggested by contributors.

Please help us build our archive.

We want to create a community of scholars and practitioners committed to promoting equity and justice in the global health field and higher education. Our platform provides a space for scholars to engage and contribute to ongoing decolonisation efforts. We invite academics, researchers, and experts worldwide to participate in our community and share diverse knowledge and perspectives in different languages; we are particularly interested in contributions from scholars from the Global South. We encourage contributions in various formats, such as poems, stories, arts, artifacts, photographs, films, podcasts, articles, essays, and books. Please contact us to submit your work through a form located in Make a contribution.

Thank you for visiting our website, and we look forward to your contributions to advancing the discourse around decolonising the global health field and higher education.
